If you enjoy singing Handel’s Messiah, then why not try this…
Come and join Romsey Choral Society on Saturday 25th January, 10.30am to 4.30pm for a Workshop on Handel’s ‘Saul’ at Romsey Methodist Church, The Hundred, Romsey, Hampshire SO51 8BZ.
Handel's dramatic oratorio 'Saul' is a wonderfully colourful work that deserves to be as well known as his ubiquitous 'Messiah'. The story focuses on the first king of Israel's relationship with his eventual successor, David. It begins with David's triumph over Goliath, but the relationship turns from admiration to envy and hatred, ultimately leading to the downfall of the eponymous monarch.
Our esteemed musical Director, Richard Pearce, will be leading the workshop - he is an accomplished organist, conductor and pianist with both amateur and professional choirs. He records and broadcasts regularly with the BBC Singers, and is the organist for the Last Night of the BBC Proms. Our accompanist is Richard McVeigh, who can be heard frequently playing live organ recitals on his YouTube channel Beauty in Sound, where he has over 100k followers. Details
